Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and Money Manager ("we", "us") covering the Money Manager website, web app and mobile apps (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 to buy Premium. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you.

Money Manager helps you record and understand your spending. It is not a bank, broker, lender, payment service or financial, tax or legal advisor. Budgets, insights, projections and assistant answers are generated from the data you provide and are for information only. Decisions about your money are yours. Verify figures with your bank or card statements before relying on them.

You sign in with a Google or Apple account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for everything that happens under your Money Manager account. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

One person per account. You may use the account on as many of your own devices as you like. Shared accounts let other people add to a specific account you choose to share; they do not give anyone access to your other data.

You own the data you enter or import. You grant us a limited license to store, process, back up and display it only to provide the Service to you and to people you share an account with. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.

You can export your data at any time in CSV, Excel or PDF, and you can delete it at any time. When you delete data or your account, it is removed from our active systems and purged from backups within 30 days.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for having the right to upload any statement, receipt or other document you import.

Bank sync is provided through Plaid Inc. By linking a bank you authorize Plaid to access your account on a read-only basis and share that data with us, and you agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy. We cannot move money, make payments or change anything at your bank. Your bank may have its own terms about third-party access.

Sign-in is provided by Google and Apple, web payments by Stripe, and in-app purchases by Apple and Google. Those services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or conduct.

The free plan is free for as long as you like. Premium adds features described on the Pricing page for $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year, in US dollars, plus any applicable taxes. Prices may change; we will give at least 30 days' notice before a price change takes effect on an existing subscription.

Web subscriptions are billed through Stripe and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel at any time from Settings; Premium stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are billed, renewed, cancelled and refunded through those stores under their rules.

For web purchases, refund requests sent to our support address within 14 days of a charge are reviewed case by case. Except where the law requires otherwise, charges are not refunded for partial periods.

Premium applies to your account on every platform. A Premium feature may have a fair-use allowance, such as a monthly number of receipt scans, shown in the app.

Do not:

• Use the Service for anything illegal or to track money that is not yours to track.
• Upload malware, attempt to access other people's accounts or data, or probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service without written permission.
• Scrape, crawl or copy the Service other than through its intended features, or resell or sublicense access to it.
• Reverse engineer the apps except where the law permits.
• Use automated tools to create accounts or to exceed fair-use limits.
• Impersonate us or anyone else, or use the Service to harass anyone, including other members of a shared account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practical.

The Service, including its software, design, logos, text and category icons, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the apps and the web app for your own budgeting. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.

If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, add or remove features, including free ones, and may discontinue the Service with at least 60 days' notice and a way to export your data. Bank data depends on your bank and Plaid, and some transactions post late or not at all for reasons outside our control.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT BUDGETS, INSIGHTS, SCANS, IMPORTS OR ASSISTANT ANSWERS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THESE EXCLUSIONS, SO SOME MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA OR OVERDRAFT, LATE OR INTEREST CHARGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, damages and reasonable legal fees arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or data you upload that you did not have the right to upload.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and try to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days. If that fails, any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court or seek an injunction for intellectual-property misuse. Class actions and class arbitrations are waived. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing us within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.

If you are a consumer outside the United States, nothing in this section removes rights you have under the mandatory laws of your country.

We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top shows the current version. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them as part of a merger or sale. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for the apps distributed through their stores and may enforce them against you.
